On the basis of investigation, a total of 193 families,620 genera and 1280 species of wild economic plants, including 25 familie, 38 genera and 65 of Pteridophytes, 5 families, 6 genera and 8 species of Gymnospermae, 163 families, 576 genera and 1207 species of Angiosperme were identified in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province. Among them, 690 species are medicinal plants, 206 timber plants, 180 ornamental plants, 86 fiber plants, 85 wild fruit plants, 67 oil-bearing plants, 43 tannic plants, 38 aromatic plants, 35starch plants , 25 honey plants. The characteristics of the plant resources were analyzed and some suggestions about utilization and protection of the resources were put forwarded.
